The New England Carnival Glass Association annual convention and auction are always held in September in conjunction with the Brimfield Antiques Fair. The Brimfield Fair is an important part of our club as it all started at Tom Burn's booth around 1976. A few people always gathered at his booth and talked Carnival Glass. Eleanor Hart got the idea of starting a Carnival Glass club in New England. Shortly after, she sent invitations to people she knew who were interested in the "glass".
The first meeting was held at a hair salon in Sturbridge, Massachusetts with around 25 people in attendance. After a few meetings, the club had to move because the salon got too small. The club moved to the Best Western also in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, Our first convention was held in 1983 at the Best Western and the first auction was held in Spencer, Massachusetts at the V.F.W. Hall. Over the years, conventions have been held in West Springfield, MA; Vernon, CT; Chicopee, MA and Worcester, MA and are currently held in Leominster, MA.
Please see the Archives page for photos of some of the club's earlier events.
